How do you do Christmas?

You know me....love the 'listy' blog posts!! Here's another one for your reading pleasure!!!

Wrapping paper or gift bags? At Christmas I wrap with paper but any other time of the year I love the convenience of the gift bags.

Real or fake tree? The last couple of years we've had a fake, pre-lit tree but when I plugged it in this year 2/3 wouldn't turn on. So today we're going to cut down a real tree. The kids are so excited!

Hot chocolate or apple cider? I LOVE hot chocolate made with our cappuccino maker. (we use the steamer to make it frothy) I also love the smell of wassail simmering on the stove.

Favorite gift as a child. One of my memories is being so excited about a pair of boots that I got for Christmas. I wore them to bed that night!

How many Nativity sets?
I wish I had more, but I have 3 now.

Worst gift?
When I was a young woman, one of my boyfriends gave me 2 towels that didn't even match each other!!! Yikes!

Favorite Christmas movie?
I would have to say that I really enjoy the movie Elf. Hilarious!

When do you start shopping for Christmas? I always start my Christmas shopping on Black Friday. It's hard for me to focus on Christmas before the holiday season.

Have you ever recycled a Christmas present? I have to admit that... OF COURSE I have.

Favorite thing to eat at Christmas. I love all the food during the holidays but one of my favorites is a dessert my mom makes. It's a Danish Rice Pudding and she'd hide an almond in. Who ever got the almond won a prize!

Clear lights or colored? I'm a mostly clear light gal, but I do use some red in with it. Much to my families dismay, I'm not a fan of multi-colored lights.

Favorite Christmas song. I love all the Christmas songs. Every style, genre, age, whatever. I recently put together a playlist of Christmas songs. Maybe I'll post it on here for the holiday season.

Angel or star on my tree? I have a star on my tree these days.

Hardest to buy for. I'd have to say my dad. I never know what to get him so he usually gets a gift card to Barnes and Noble or a tie. He always says he likes that the best though.

Easiest to buy for. My kids! Who doesn't have a blast buying toys and knowing that their kids are going to be a excited to get them?!?

Worst Christmas. I can't think of a worst Christmas experience but I guess something that leaves a sour taste in my mind is when one of my aunts was being a *you know what* to my mom right before she was going on their mission to Africa around Christmas time.

Things I like about Christmas. I love Christmas!! I love the smell, the lights, the decore all over the house, the family parties, the games played together, the kids and Dave having a couple of weeks off from school, the food, the shopping, the feeling of joy, the traditions and everything else that goes along with this time of year.

Things I would change about Christmas. I guess I would have to say that I think we get so caught up with all the happenings and the commercialism of the holiday season that we don't give the focus that we really need to the real meaning of Christams...CHRIST!

Traditions: Twinkie, sleeping in the same room Christmas Eve, reading the Christmas story by the fireplace, lining up single file, youngest to oldest, on the stairs to go see what Santa brought, Christmas brunch and Christmas caroling with our friends the Edwards.
